"This larger-than-life wood figure sat on a fool's throne (made of diamond willow), with an impeccably carved crow (black walnut) perched on his shoulders. Look closer: It actually pecked out a chunk of his flesh (eastern red cedar) Another bird laid eggs on his mop of hair.
This emaciated figure would have been harrowing were it not also absurd. For one thing, the dummy's face was a ringer for Keith Richards, right down to the too-tight headband. And while Mr Brager skillfully carved the anatomy of the wraith's hands, he left the scarecrow a blank-that is a neuter-"
